Running Symfony 1.2 on xampp and Windows

  1. Extract the archive in your C: drive, for example 
    C:\symfony
  2. Edit Environment variables
    • Click the Start button/Orb > right click on computer. Go to Properties and then the advanced system settings tab. Click on the Environment Variables button. In the list of System Variables, click on the PATH variable and click Edit.
    • Add :
      ;C:\xampp\php;C:\xampp\mysql\bin;C:\symfony\data\bin
  3. Making directory for project directory
    • Start the Command Prompt
    • Make a new project directory:
      C:\>mkdir \xampp\htdocs\myproject
    • Open project dir
      C:\>cd \xampp\htdocs\myproject
  4. Copy all the default symfony project files to your directory
  5.   8. Check it out in browser ->type : 
    http:\localhost\myproject\
  9. Copy folder sf in symfony directory: 
    C:\xampp\htdocs\symfony\data\web\sf ….

    n paste in :

    C:\xampp\htdocs\myproject\web….

    … If it doesn’t exist.
    Otherwise, just copy the content of sf folder at symfony folder
